The Shortlist is our members-only subscription club for bourbon lovers who want exclusive access to rare, one-of-a-kind bottles from Shortbarrel. Think private barrels, small-batch blends, and experimental finishes—shipped (or picked up) straight from the source.

A little of both. You’re joining a private club that guarantees you either 2 or 4 exclusive bottles per year, depending on your tier. These aren’t random bottles—they’re handcrafted releases made only for Shortlisters.

Shortlist bottles are exclusive to members only—they won’t be sold online, in stores, or even at the distillery. These include:

• Custom blends crafted just for the Shortlist
• Hand-selected single barrels
• Experimental finishes and small-batch projects

Whether you’re in the 2- or 4-bottle tier, these releases are made just for the group. No public access. No exceptions.

There are three plans:

• Starter: $400/year — 2 bottles shipped (or picked up) every 6 months
• Signature (National): $800/year — 4 bottles, shipped quarterly

Each membership is valid for 365 days from the date you join.

Only if you enter your payment information in your membership portal. We’ll send you a reminder before your year is up so you can renew if you’d like.

It's possible, but depends on bottle availability. Allocations are carefully planned in advance. You’ll need to wait until your membership term ends to change tiers. That said, if something serious comes up (not just FOMO), email us at support@shortbarrelbourbon.com and we’ll try to help.

No, we don’t offer pauses. You can always rejoin or change tiers at the end of your term.

We no longer offer Shortlist local pick up. Please come by and say hi or check out the bottle shop of unique offerings.

Yes! But depending on when you join, you may need to wait for the next release cycle to receive your first bottle.

• Starter: 2x/year (Sept & March)
• Signature: 4x/year (Sept, Dec, March & June)

You’ll be added to the current release cycle. Your first bottle will ship with the next drop.

Yes—you will receive an email with tracking information when your bottle ships. Check your spam or promo folders if you don’t see it.

UPS will try 3 times. If the package is returned, you may be responsible for reshipping fees. Use UPS My Choice to avoid issues.

Yes. Alcohol shipments require an adult (21+) with valid ID to sign for delivery. Federal law.

U.S. ground shipping is included.

We no longer offer local pick-up at the distillery.

Yes! Signature members get 48-hour early access to designated online releases and Starter members get 24 hour early access before the public. These are separate from your included bottles and are first-come, first-served.

You’re always guaranteed the 2 or 4 core bottles in your membership.

For designated additional limited drops, it’s first-come, first-served—but you’ll get a 48-hour head start over everyone else if you’re Signature and 24-hour if you’re Starter. (NOT ALL DROPS ARE AVAILABLE FOR EARLY ACCESS)

Only core membership bottles are guaranteed. Extra releases sell out fast. Be sure to check your email and act quickly when drops go live.

Anyone who has purchased a Shortlist membership will automatically have 10% taken off their orders at checkout OR you can use your member only code at checkout which is shared via email.

Yes—everything on the Shortbarrel site, including limited releases (if you’re quick enough).
